Dennis has been the pastor at Trinity United Methodist Church since June of 2010 and a United Methodist pastor since 1998. Prior to entering the ministry, he practiced law for 18 years in the Nashville Area and Middle Tennessee. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, a Juris Doctor From UTK and a Masters of Divinity from Vanderbilt University. He is the author of two bible studies for youth (Radical Jesus and Called to Love and Justice) and a contributing author to three other studies for Youth: Extraordinary New Testament People; Extraordinary Old Testament People; and Soul Tending.  He is also a contributing author to the Youth Sunday School curriculim, Claim the Life.

Dennis has a wife, Jeanne Rybolt, and three daughters: Erin (28), Courtney (24) and Susanna (19).
